Summary: The village and agriculture are living through great
changes that reflect our whole social and economic development. In
villages those changes happen on three mutually connected levels: -
village as settlement and rural estate within which the village
inhabitants organize their whole life, - household as the basic social
substance within which all demografic, social and economic changes happen,
and - family housekeeping as productional-economic unit of an household
but also an important branch of national economy. As the village
rappresents more than 80% of our total territory on which more than half
of our inhabitants live and the agriculture rappresents a very important
economic activity it is therfore very important to establish and explain
all changes in that environment in order to examine their consequences.
The results of these examinations should be a scientific basis on which
the development policy towards the village and agriculture would be based.
