Summary: Agriculture is one of the most important factors in
development of Istria and partially in development of Croatian coast.
Management and marketing in business of future agricultural and food
processing system must be the initiators of development. Application of
modern principles of management would enable more qualitative and faster
restructuring of ownership, production and expenditures according to
development of domestic and world market.

Research goals: The goal of this research is the incerase in
production of agricultural and food processing goods in Istria according to
environmental conditions of agricultural production which would meet the
requirements of domestic and foreign market by means of modern management
and marketing. The goal of this research is specific because of particular
touristic market which is the consumer of large quantities of agricultural
products. The special goals are: 1. Change of agricultural and food
processing production structure. 2. Increase in agricultural and food
processing production eficiency and rationality. 3. Research in supply and
selling market of agricultural and food processing system. 4. Restructuring
of ownership, contraction and management of agricultural and food
processing system, formation of the institutional conditions for marketing
infrastructure in the region. 5. Increase in export of agricultural
products. The expected outcome of this research is increase in agricultural
and food processing production in the region, improvement in the eficiency
and rationality of business activities (productivity, economy,
rentability), increased enployment and higher national income in Istria. Other information about the project.
