Summary: Intensive economic development requires large quantities of
various energy sources and forms, which contributes to a higher level of
environmental pollution. Development of towns, particularly of major
cities, has to a great extent neglected the treatment of negative effects
achieved by using some energy sources and forms. Compatibility of energy
sources and forms represents an important element of global energy supply
in which the price of energy plays all the time more significant role.
Specific energy consumption is a final indicator of rational utilization.
One of the energy sources possessing significant power, economic and
ecological advantages in regard to other fossile fuels and to electricity
is natural gas.
Keywords: Energy, Production and energy consumption, Oil, Natural gas, Coal, Technology, Development, Energy sources, Urban environment,Efficiency, Economy, Ecology.
Research goals: Research has proved the indispensable rational
utilization of natural gas, particularly in urban surroundings. Analysis of
relevant data on the structure of energy consumption in some major urban
surroundings represents a basic for making conclusion on how energy gets
consumed, especially that supplied to final consumers. On the basis of
these data, it is indispensable to emphasize the energy supply policy as
well as thw energy quality. Within the project scope, there have been
pointed out the consequences of today's energy supply policy upon the
energy and economic system as well as on the level of environmental
pollution in urban surroundings. Advantages of natural gas are the
objective of research with the indication of a possible development of
consumption. Other information about the project.
