Summary: The article examines international systems of
spatialorganization for tourist regions and their implementation inCroatia.
Three basic models are defined: a) tourist regions whichcorrespond to
administrative units; b) tourist areas which areexcluded from the rest of
the country; and c) tourist regionswhich cover the whole territory of the
country, but do notcorrespond with the administrative units. The third
model isnoted as the most appropriate for Croatia, on which basis
arepropsed eight tourist regions.
