Summary: The project "Identification of Tourist Attractions in the
Republic of Croatia" aims at establishing a new information data base of
the country's tourism supply, infrastructure and attractions. The project
consists of gathering, selecting and processing information regarding
tourist attractions which it will then be possible to segment according to
need. In this sense, this project is a very important part of the tourism
development strategy of Croatia as a whole.
Research goals: The principal aim of this Project is to identify and
systematizethe data concerning the tourist supply, infrastructure and the
system of attractions on the Croatia's territory. The target is to collect
all the available information about the tourist attractions for the
territory of Croatia and thus to accumulatethe knowledge about the
possibilities for the tourism developmentfor the integral Croatia's
territory as well as for it's regions. The purpose of this Project is, by
using the adequate methodological and technical processing of the relevant
data, to create the comprehensive information basis, which can serve for
different purposes. Data collected in such a way form the basis which will
serve for the work on comprehensive and detailed analysis on the
conditions of the tourist supply as well as to help bringing more precise
estimations about the possibilities of the tourism's development in all
parts of Croatia. The tourist information base can also be of use in
supplying with information all the concerned potential users, ranging from
the governmental bodies to the local communities. This tourist information
basis can play a special role for the entire research work of the
Institute for Tourism, since the anticipated data represent one of the
leading elements for the work on other scientific projects. Other information about the project.
