Summary: Tourism should be regarded as a cornerstone industry in the
development of Istria. Application of proper marketing strategies in the
tourism market supply lmay become the main initiator of development.
Adequate restructuring will increase the quality of the tourism market
supply which will favourably affect the overall tourism demand.
Research goals: THE MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO DEFINE THE MODEL OF GROWTH
OF THE TOURISM DEMAND IN ISTRIA. For that purpose the following will be
assessed: 1. Factors which will favourably affect the spending pattern of
potential tourists 2. The extent of cooperation between the agricultural
and industrial system of enterprises, trade and hospitality management in
the selection of their individual development strategies in relation to the
domestic and international tourism demand 3. The model of cooperation of
lthe named subjects for the purpose of achieving the set target - In
addition to the main objectives four other separate goals have also abeen
established.
