Summary: The sectors of Croatian economy which are based on
exploiting the sea, no matter what the level of development is, are
considered to be the key factors of post-war reconstruction and carriers
of overall socio-economic development. Companies of maritime economy
build their interrelationship and economic dependance on the maritime
market where special markets have appeared. These markets are
interdependant so that the conditions and movement on any of them
influences the others. Applying marketing concepts in maritime economy is
vital prerequisite of market efficacy. However, the use of marketing is
still underdeveloped in operating these companies. It has specific
features taking into consideration the uniqueness of business operations
in maritime economy. During 1993, 1994 and 1995 research workers have
worked on macroaspects, i.e. socio-economic conditions of Croatian
maritime economic development. They are as follows: Economic factors; The
influence of technical-technological factors of development of Croatian
maritime economy; Institutional factors of the development of Croatian
maritime economy; Croatian maritime economy marketin redefinition;
Maritime marketing- a factor in market valuation of Croatian maritime
orientation.

features with the company's aspect of planning and management functions.

execution of marketing in a company. However, marketing is still
underdeveloped in business operations of these companies. It has specific
