Summary: The problem of this researsh is orientation and mobility of
the blind. This scientific and professional area in Republic of Croatia
hasn't been systematicaly investigate and applied in rehabilitation
practice. Research outside of our country, especialy in USA, United
Kingdom, Germany and Sweden have brought series of new informations
relevant for new aproach to education and rehabilitation of the blind.
Realisation of this project should support the supstitution of traditional
with new attitudes, programs and methods of prepearing of the blind for
orientation and mobility and for life in open society.
Research goals: The aim of this research is efficiency of the blind
in the field of orientation and mobility. The indicators are factors on the
side of blind subjects - subjective factors as: inteligence, emotional
status, visual status, family status, educational status, etc...and factors
outside of blind subjects - objective factors as: programs and methods of
orientation and mobility duration of training, mobility devices,
legislation attitudes of sighted people, etc...
