Summary: On the sample of 1800 college students of both sexes of the University of Zagreb (the initial number of participants) characteristics of morphological, functional, motor, cognitive, conative and social status will be determined. The initial measurements will be made at the beginning of a schoolyear while at beginnings of following schoolyears (second, third and fourth) control measurements in all variables will be made. Then, statistics of results according to sex and also to the type of study will be calculated. Sexual differences will be analyzed in each year separately, and,in addition,in successive time points dynamics of changes of particular characteristics will be determined, separately for male and female participants. Final analysis will answer whether and in what extent the morphological, functional and motoric status in our college students change in the course of their study.

Research goals: The goal of this study is to determine, by four year longitudinal follow-up, some morphologic, functional, motor, cognitive and conative characteristics of college students of the University of Zagreb, age 19-23, of both sexes. The study would enable formation of direct conclusions on the characteristics being followed, for each age range and sex group, as well as an insigth in dynamics of features monitored during the phase of the organism development, and their possible dependance on social factors. We expect the results of this work to enable an insigth into qualitative and quantitative anthropologic and motoric characteristics in man in the phase of, supposedlly, a deceleration and an end of growth and development. It is specially interesting from the scientific viewpoint to determine the dynamics of qualitative and quantitative changes in morphologic, functional and psychomotor domains. The results of this study are of a fundamental importance for biologic anthropology, physiology,psychology, sociology and kinesiology. Besides, they are important for the applied kinesiology, since they can assist in choosing more efficcacious methods of classification, selection, programming and control of kinesiologic transformation processes.
