Summary: The aim of this project is to study the main determinants
of relationship between knowledge, cognition, communication and space. The
stress is on the research of the following determinants and their
functions: language (rules of natural and formal languages), space (models
of space, social and symbolic organisation), time (social and historical
time) and museum objects (natural and historical objects). The main parts
of the project are: models of knowledge and cognition systems; structure
and organization of knowledge from the 1st to the 8th grade of primary
school (the analysis of corpus of primary school textbooks); theoretical
models of knowledge representation and organization in museums; development
and future of art museums and galleries in Zagreb; algorithmisation of
language rules; model of morphological knowledge of Croatian language;
syntax analysis model of contextual languages.
Keywords: knowledge, cognition, representation, communication pattern, space, context, language, syntax, morphology, rules, algorithm, museum object, museum, museology, corpus
Research goals: The main aims of this project are: a) to study
epistemological structure of the object of information science, that is the
structure of knowledge (space and time determinants of symbolic objects),
cognitive system (social and historical determinants of cognitive
subjects), communication patterns (language and technological determinants
of exchange of knowledge) and interfunctional relations and links that take
part in representation, organization and exchange of knowledge; b) to study
the structure, presentation and development of pupils' knowledge based on
the corpus of primary school textbooks; c) to establish theoretical
principles of museology and its place in information science; d) to
describe linguistic intuition in order to find linguistic rules; e) to
describe linguistically the morphology of the Croatian language by applying
a two-level model; f) to develop a universal procedure of syntactic
analysis of contextual languages. The expected results are the following:
establishing of determinants of different types of knowledge, composing a
dictionary of concepts which pupils should be able to adopt during the
first eight years of their primary education; recognizing the basic
sentence constructions in order to present primary school knowledge;
definig of theoretical models of representation and organization of
knowledge in museums, formalization of tacit language knowledge,
implementation of syntactic analysis model over the whole class of
contextual and context-free languages.
