Summary: So far we know at least a ten of the Croatian natural scientists that have been obstructed in studies, persecuted and closed in prison for their religious, national and anticommunist opinions in the past regime from 1945-1989. Then their scientific studies have been usually stopped, but for they were the unique Croatian specialists in their fields, their specialities became stopped and extinct resulting by the multidisciplinary prologed damages in the Croatian science. Therefore a considerable part of their precedent scientific studies and complete monographs so far persisted unpublished, for their personal embargo and political prohibitions, and now in the new Croatia their manuscript need to be recensed, edited and published for the benefit of the national and global science. Since such a political obstruction or even the physical killings of the persecuted scientists, a number of their scientific specialities in Croatia so far persisted abandoned and neglected without any young specialists. For such political obstructions, one stopped in Croatia especially all studies in the lichenology, fossil palinology (past pollen and spores), in the zoocoenology of terrestrial vertebrates, etc. Therefore it is necessary and urgent to regenerate in Croatia these studies as soon as possible, by the specializing of some young scientists in these fields during their M.Sc. and D.Sc. theses chiefly in the foreign research centres.

Research goals: a) The first cope is a definition of the type and intensity of the interventions of political ideology in the development and stopping of the natural sciences in Croatia during the times 1945-1989, especially in botany, zoology, ecology, natural geography, geomorphology, pedology, etc., and to made an inventory of previously active scientists then stopped under political embargo with their deocumented biographies and completed lists of their publications and also unpublished studies. b) The second scope is the registration and the delivery from political embargo of their unpublished scientific manuscripts and of the entire stopped monographs including some important results of actual value or at least important for the development of related science, and finally the editing of their assembled studies. c) The main terminal scope is the identification and delimitation of the scientific fields in Croatia that have been stopped and abandoned for the political persecution of related scientists, and now are without young specialists. In such deficient fields we will include and promote the new young students to be specialized in these stopped fields by the elaboration of their M.Sc. or D.Sc. theses in some foreign research centres.
