Summary: During work on the project papers were written covering
problems from 18th and 19th century Croatian history. They present the
formation of the Croatian nation and modern civil society, cultural and
church history, economic history and the history of Croato-Serbian
relations. The main fields are: -History of central institutions in
Croatia in the 18th and 19th century - legislative, administrative,
cultural, church and economic institutions. -Distinguished people and
ideologies of the Croatian national movement in the 19th century (Lj. Gaj,
E. Kvaternik, M. Pavlinović etc.) -Zagreb - Croatian metropolis.
-Political, social and economic history of Dalmatia in the 18th and 19th
century. -The Military Border in processes of refedualization and
modernization in the 18th and 19th century. -Croato-Serbian relations
in the 19th century.

Research goals: The project was registrated to last until 31
December 1993 and itis accomplished all the tasks reqired. The project
headrecommends work on the project to be extended until 31. December1999.

-Historiy of central institutions in Croatia in the 18th and19th century -
legislative, administrative, cultural, church andeconomics institutions.
-Distinguished people and ideologies of the Croatian nationalmovement in
the 19th century. -Zagreb -a Capital of Croatia. -Political, social
and economic history of Dalmatia in the18th and 19th century. -The
Military Border in process of refeudalisation andmodernisation in the 18th
and 19th century. -Croato-Serbian relations in the 19th century. Books
already in print will come out, manuscripts of books willbe completed (see
"Description of work on project"), newmonographs will be started, a large
