Summary: Contemporary Croatian architecture from 1970 until
today embraces the period after functionalism. There are advents as
structuralism, brutalism, regionalism, postmodern, late modern, emotional
rationalism, deconstruction. Development of new sensitivneses for
historical environment. Relation between contemporary movements in the
world and situation in Croatia. Contribution of individual architects and
architectural groups. Specificy of separate regions. Realised buildings,
competitions and rewards, volume and scope of current architectural
critics. The base of documentary data for realised buildings, competitons
and critics. The catalogue of realised buildings. Synthetic treatment of
any of developing directions and the most famous architects.

Research goals: Making the documentary base for the contemporary
Croatian architecture (photographs, slides, video tapes, architectural
photographs, bibliography) to be complementary with the architectural atlas
made on the Faculty of Architecture. Establishing of scope and values of
developing directions in the contemporary Croatian architecture.
Reinstatement of relations toward the worldwide and European architecture.
Publishing of synthetical reviews and monographs of some of developing
directions and the most famous architects. Other information about the project.
