Summary: Talking about the task a) of this project, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and its Department of Historical Sciences have, already before the 18th volume of Codex diplomaticus Regni Croatiae, Dalmatiae et Slavoniae has been published, started investigating and collecting the unpablished diplomatic materia in Croatian, and also in foreign archives, with the purpose to publish Supplements (Supplementa) of the Codex diplomaticus. Talking about the task b) of the project, the associates have decided, after examining some of the fonds and series in the Vatican Secret Archives, not to publish this materia within the series of Codex diplomaticus, but to start a new series for publishing this kinds of sources for Croatiae history. Using the standard method, Croatian historical science will considerably be enriched through this two tasks of the mentioned project, because these investigations will complete our knowledge about the history of the Croatiae people. After this fundamental sources being published, Croatiae historical science will join the large family of other European nations, who have already published such sources, or are still publishing them. Especially the unpublished sources of the Vatican Secret Archives will solve meny questions within Croatian historical science. This project will complete the publishing of Croatian medieval sources.

Research goals: The aim of both two tasks of this project is to investigate, to register, to record, to transcribe, to elaborate and prepare for publishing until now unknown and unpublished diplomatic materia, other historical materia and some sources for Croatian history. Talking about the Supplements of Codex diplomaticus, the time span of this materia is identical to the time span of the Codex diplomaticus i.e. till 1399. Talking about Monumenta Croatica Vaticana, the time span is identical to the medieval period of diplomatic materia, i.e. till 1526. The aim of this project is also to complete the diplomatic and other historical sources, already published in Croatia, and to solve some questions about the history of the medieval Croatia. Talking about the task b), the greatest emphasis is on the investigation on the archival fonds and collections of the Vatican Secret Archives, wich are very important for Croatian history. The most important fonds and collections for this period are: Camera apostoloca (with 5 series), the Registers of Avignon, the Registers of Supplice, the Lateran registers and the Vatican registers. Also, the aim of this project is to answer different falsifications within Croatian history and some recent puting the blame on Croatian historical sciencie and the Croatian people. As a result of three years' working on the project, considering the lack of money for foreign investigations, there is one book published and two in publishing procedure. It means the associates have, within 3 years, transcribed about 2000 pages of unpublished diplomatic materia concerning Croatia medieval history.
