Summary: The book represents its second and enlarged edition. In
theintroductory part of the book discussed are the cultural andhistorical
conditions in which those Baroque castles appeared, asa new architectural
task in Europe and in Croatia. Further on thehistory of the castle building
in Hrvatsko zagorje is dealt with,systematized is their typological
sudivision and commented thedevelopment of their typologically determined
building structure.Demonstrated is then the relation of the typological
andstylistic features as well as the role of the castle in thehistory of
Croatian architecture. In the supplement authordiscusses the meaning of
some characteristical elements of theappertaining architecture such as is
the tower, dungeon etc.

Summary: By examining the church architecture and its wooden model -
project according to which its building originally started - as well as the
archive documentation, the phases of the church building (1754-1769) have
been determined. The precise share of the project author and first builder
G.Dongetti has been established as opposed to the share of A.Naiber who
finished the building, considerably changing the project. Subsequently
discussed are the uniqueness of the Dongetti's project and his importance
for the architectural activities of his time in the North Adriatic area.

Summary: The research topic is a group of the 18th century churches
of Istria and Hrvatsko primorje that belong to the architectural type
widespread in the North Adriatic area. The origin of this type is the
church Il Redentore, and its architectural features were determined by G.
Massari in the 18th century. The author disloses the architectural
development of the mentioned type in Venetia from the 16-18th century and
then focuses on its features in the Croatian coast examples.

Summary: The work discusses one-nave churches with a pair of chapels
occuring frequenty in Istria in the 17th and 18th century. A group of these
churches has a pair of deep chapels with window openings connected with the
unvolted nave, so that the church has a shape of Latin cross with a short
transept. The other group consists of the churches whose chapels are placed
on the cross axis of the nave. The chapels are shallow and without their
own windows. These chapels are the consequences of the late Palladian type
of churches and they have been built in the second half of the 18th
century.

Summary: The article features a comparative review of eighteenth
century church architecture in Venice and suggests that, along with
Palladian architectural features, many older element of Venetian
architecture persisted, especially the Romanesque-Byzantine qincunx that
had been reintroduced during the Renaissance. The author also shows how the
late Palladian type of single-nave church was developed in the eighteenth
century (Gaspari Massari) and then (1730) became prevalent on the Northern
Adriatic area of Croatia.

worked out.

Blasius in Vodnjan reveals that it belongs to a group of large churches
built in the course of the seventeenth and eighteenth century on the
pattern of the Chathedral of Venice (ca. 1600). The immediate model was
Massari's parish church in Palazzolo sull'Oglio, and the designer was
Massari's pupil and associate, B. Maccaruzzi.
