Summary: The project deals with scholary-research in the field of medieval Croatian history till 1526 as well as the later phases of Middle Ages with the reference to feudalism and transition of feudalisme to civic society. The scope of the project is collecting, processing and publishing historical materials which should be interpreted and incorporated into the body of studies, monographs and articles. The project comprehends the work on reference books (Dictionary of Medieval Latin, handbooks of sources, bibliographies etc.) paying special attention to the Croatian historical, social, legal, political and cultural heritage. Different groups of sources are dealt with and gathered in a unity according to a thematic and regional key. Gathering, processing and preparing for publishing includes chards, scripts and documents (written in Croatian, Latin, Italian, German, English language, etc.) with annotated translations, notarial books (Zadar, Split, Kotor), statutes and statutary regulations of towns and regions, city concile protocols, data on church dime, tourees for history of cathedral chapters, demographic history, as well as materials and studies in economic and political history. Several studies in Croatian Medieval and Early Modern Time history are in the process as well as researching in Croatian historiography (Thomas Archidiaconus, M. A. de Dominis, I. Lucius, hagiography, Vrančić, Gradić, Vitez, Vitezović, Smičiklas, Kukuljević, Rački). Special attention is paid to a medieval studies (epigraphy, paleography, diplomatics, chronology, heraldics, sfragistics etc.). The work on serial publications is expected, such as: "Works by writters on Croatian history", Repertory of sources", Lexicon latinitatis Medii Aevi - Addenda" as well as publishing "Zbornik Zavoda za povijesne znanosti HAZU" as a periodical publication.

Research goals: Researching Croatian history of Middle Ages and Early Modern Time considering period of feudalism and transition to civic society, gathering materials with the aim of publishing, preparing studies and monographs, producing necessary handbooks and manuals is connected with previous results and it is a logical continuation and a part of a long term period research. The scope of the project is to fulfil the lacune in previously researched tourees, what should enable further work on Croatian history. The result of this project should be the benefit for Croatian historical studies and a great contribution for its comprehension in Europe.
