Summary: The project is a continuation ofthe researches into the
musical creativity in Split within the context of musical performances,
information and organization of musical life in a definite period of time.
Emphasis is placed on the opuses and lives of the Split composers Josip
Hatze (1879-1959), Ivo Parać (1890-1954), Jakov Gotovac (1895-1982) and Ivo
Tjardović (1895-1976) and on musical dramas in theatre and choral societies
("Zvonimir", "Guslar", "Tomislav").

Research goals: The results ofthe researches will give a complete
picture of the musical production in Split at that time. It can serve also
as a bazis for differnt synthezes ofthe musical cultural milieu in its
winder context orte consider the part the Split musical production has
played in the Modern age in Croatia and in the European musical community.
