Summary: The project "Literary Istria in XIX and XX Century in Italian Language" studies Istrian authors of the XIX and XX century, writing in Italian language, from Romanticism up to these days. The expected contributions of this research consists of the presentation of this literature from the standpoint of autonomous origins and development as the result of specific historical and geographical influences. Literary reviews of the XX century are elaborated in particular, as well as the literary creation of Osvaldo Ramous, the most significant poet of the Italian ethnic group.

Research goals: The purpose of the proposed research is the integral presentationof the Italian literature on the Istrian soil in the XIX and XXcentury. Within this research the systematization andclassification of this literature will be performed. Literaryreviews of the XX century published in Italian language will beelaborated apart which should lead to new cognitions withrespect to the influence on the development of Istrian culture,as well as the literary production of Osvaldo Ramous, the mostsignificant poet of Italian expression with the emphasis on hisintegration into the corpus of Italian national lyric poetry ofthe XX century. The expected results of this research consist of the presentationof the Italian literature of the XIX and XX century on Istriansoil from the standpoint of autonomous origins and development,as the result of specific historical and geographical influences.
