The author uses the combinedapproach of componential analysis and the theory of deep cases todetermine the degree of intralingual and interlingual semanticsimilarities between these verbs. The investigation shows thatthere are no real equivalents between the cited verbs; what canbe established are only different degrees of semantic congruity. In this sense, the most closely intralingually related verbs ingerman are "beleidigen" and "kr„nken" and "povrijediti" and"uvrijediti" in croatian.Interlingually the most si milarverbsare the german "beleidigen" and the croatian verb"vrijeđati".
