Summary: The methodology of working on the reference books for studyingCroatian by non-native students has being established and workedout in details. So far has being done great deal of preliminarywork considering listing and describing relevant language facts.The language levels and their relations have been established,therefore one can now approach the division of material on levelbases. Regarding all this it is decided that in the first phasethere is a necessity to make divided reference books in Croatianphonology, morphology, syntax and lexicology. Simultaneously, thework on the reference grammar and reference dictionary willcontinue. This phase would, if circumstances, specially assets,prevail normal, take about five years. Until that, a secondaryschool textbooks of phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicology,that are going to be published this year and have being writtenby members of Department for contemporary Croatian literarylanguage on Philosophical Faculty of Zagreb University, are goingto be used. The school books mentioned above are mostly writtenon the methodological bases also used in project. The Grammar ofCroatian Dictionary (on diskette) which is going to be worked outthis year by project's headmaster Josip Silić in collaborationwith information experts, is also to be of great assistance. TheGrammar is written on the same principles as the other referencebooks of the project are. Vladimir Anić (as the member of theproject) did a great deal of work concerning preliminary works onCroatian dictionary for studying Croatian on foreign high schoolsand universities.
