    Summary: The work is attempt of the monographic interpretation of the literary work of Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz. The basics of the analitical-interpretative aproach is number of Witkiewicz's dramas from the twenties as well as the presupositions of those texts, primarily estetical-historiosophic catastrophical system. To prove the coherence between two types of the discourse - theoretical and dramatic - the therms of theory of text and theatrical semiotics has been used.

    Summary: The author discusses the relationship between translated literature with national and world literature. A definiton of translation is put forward and the relation between the original and the translation is analysed within the framework of other antinomies of translation (literal translation - free translation, individuality - collectivity, etc.). Special attention is drawn to poetical translation, the relationship between language and versification as well as to the problem of the iamb in Croatian, Russian and English.

    Summary: In the Lord's Prayer two functions are discovered - the function of a prayer and the function of a model.The connections with the Ten Commandments and the differences between the two texts are determined. Syntactic, semantical and theological aspects of the Lord's Prayer are brought to attention, and some difficulties in translation are observed.

    Summary: The article explains semantic processes characterising the main tropes - metaphor, metonymy and synecdoche, using the notion of "the semantic field of a word". Metaphor is characterised by the interaction of two different semantic field, while metonymy can be defined by semantic changes within the same semantic field. The basis of these processes is the synecdochic principle pars pro toto.

    Summary: The similarities and differences between P. Florenskij and O. Mandeljštam indicate the similarities and differences between two cultural and historical epochs - symbolism and postsymbolism (acmeism), and also the differences between two doctrines of thoughts - philosophy and philology.
