Summary: Potentiometric method after Leden was used in determining
the stability constants (K'n) for Cd-chloride(n) complexes (n=1-4) in 10
and 30 mass per cent tert-butanol-water mixture at different ionic
strengths and temperatures (15-40C). From K'n values were determined the
thermodynamic stability constants (Kn), and from these the standard
thermodynamic quantities were obtained for complex-forming reactions. The
influence of the dielectric constant on the quantities obtained was
established, and by comparison with the values from literature for
2-propanol-water and acetone-water mixtures also the caracter of the
organic component in the solvent.

Summary: From measurements of the molar conductivity NaBr
electrolyte of different concentrations in 2-butanol-water mixtures with 90
and 95 mass per cent alcohol in the 15-35C temperature range were
determined the limiting molar conductivity and the association constant
using Fuoss-Hsia and Lee-Wheaton equations, and other thermodynamic
quantities for the association reaction. The relation of obtained values
and of the corresponding literature values for HBr in the same mixtures was
treated and associated with the behaviour of the two electrolytes in
tert-butanol-water mixtures.
