Summary: Proteins represent the final gene products which perform all thewide array of cell functions including the specific functions ofmammalian reproductive cells. Early embryonic development ofmammals represent a sensitive period for adverse effects andaction of various toxic agents, which endanger the reproductivesuccess and human health. Experimental animals and their embryosenable the research on biological mechanisms supporting growth, morphogenesis and differentiation. Effects of active factorswhich influence development is being followed, as well as proteinchanges in embryo and reproductive cells in abnormal development(teratogenesis) and in human reproductive malignancy.ljudskog reprodukcijskog sustava (karcinogenezi).

Keywords: mammalian embryo, differentiation, growth, rodents, proteins, organ culture, morphogenesis, retinoic acid, 5-azacytidine, RB protein, lentoids, gynecological cancer, teratogenesis, carcinogenesis

Research goals: The goals are to learn about the role of some proteins (albumins, transferrins, RB protein) during diferentiation of the early mammalian embryo, when studied in vitro. The role of proteins like RB protein and p53 protein during embryonic development is a challenge relating embryology with oncology, so our next goal is to dedicate attention to protein indicators of malignant growth in gynecological malignancies. Serum proteins and antioxidant desmutagens in reproductive system will also be our goal, too. The nerve and muscle system, their development and action of taratogens, known morphogens (retinoic acid), and demethylation agents (5-azacytidine) are expected to yield interesting results.
