Summary: Theoretical and experimental investigations have been performed in order to master new insulating systems of electrical rotating machines. Several variants of insulating system of large HV machines and their components, as well as an insulating system for superconducting machines have been investigated and implemented. Insulating systems of large HV machines of rated voltages up to 24 kV are based on mica paper tapes on glass fabric. The systems were made applying vacuum-pressure impregnation with porous mica tapes and with resin-rich procedure with preimpregnated mica tapes with epoxy binder. A variant of a system up to 11 kV with resin-rich procedure and with elastic winding head has been made as well. For the purpose of insulating system implementation, additional theoretical and practicalinvestgationshave been performed on materials and components of insulating systems, their sytematisation and classification; models and winding elements have been tested; requirements in various duties have been considered.

Research goals: The goal of the project is complete adoption of insulating system of large HV rotating machines. The system of main insulation of the stator is based on mica paper tapes on glass fabric. Two main variants of such a system that are used both in the world and with us are based on resin-rich tehnology with preimpregnated tapes with epoxy binder which is also impregnating agent and on VPI-impregnating technology of system with porous tapes. Theoretical investigation was making for thermal and electric insulating system for superconducting machines on bases of superinsulation.
