Summary: Two-dimensional flow of steam and water droplets in steam turbine cascades is modeled on the computer using Fluent software package. Turbulent k-e model for modeling of steam flow is used. The droplet motion is modeled by system of ordinary differential equations. Test case is defined by 8.000 cells roughly, with about 40.000 unknowns. The computation time on PC 486 was three hours for 1030 iterations. The computed results show that water droplets with diameter less than 6 micrometers move through cascade without collisions with blades. Droplets having diameter larger than 6 micrometers collide with blades proportionally to droplet diameter. Droplets larger than 40 micrometers all collide with blades. The largest amount of droplet collisions is in tail region, what agrees well with known experimental results.

Summary: Limited natural resources of fossil fuels supply, their always rising and environmental protection requirements raise questions of the alternative sources in the electric energy generation. One of available sources for electric power generation is geothermal energy. This paper presents some feasible energy sources in Croatia which could be used economically for electric energy generation.
Keywords: geothermal sorces, energy conversion, geothermal power plants

Summary: This 1994. is 40 years of very dynamicly development of nuclear power. On that occasion, in this paper, we will show up to the present development, cerrent state in service and building nuclear power plant worldwide and influence of electricity generation development from nuclear power plant on reducing the environmental impacts and saving fossil fuel natural resources.

    Held: from 05/09/95 to 05/11/95
Summary: In the Republic of Croatia, we have found several locations that contain hot water up to the 170řC. These geothermal fields could be used for the power generations. This document shows the installations of geothermal power plants, which could use steam turbine with saturated steam. The result of the research and the studying, show that energy produced on this fields in the steam turbine power plant with saturated steam could be financially justify and the investment could earn the profit.

Meeting: 8th International Conference on Erosion by Liquid and Solid Impact
    Held: from 09/04/94 to 09/08/94
Summary: A significant amount of erosion damage of rotor blades of the first stage of high pressure part of turbine, as well as of the first stage of medium pressure part of turbine, can take place due to impact of the steam born solid particles. A decrease in efficiency, reliability and working life of turbine blades are the consequences. In order to improve the prediction of turbine blades working life, the experiments were carried out to characterize the erosion process of turbine blade materials. Different materials were exposed to silica particles impact in a whirling arm rig. The results were compared to an Abrasion Resistence Index determined by microhardness and volume fraction of microstructure constituents, and microhardness of abrasives. Some observations of turbine blade erosion in real life situation were also considerd.
