Summary: This research has been directed towards the problem of powerplant maintenance with the aim to increase availability andreliability of the plant, its safe functioning and to prolonglife time and functioning of its components abd systems. Research has been directed to solve: - optimal maintenance organization, - defunition of maintenance informational system as preconditionfor efficient preparation, organization and quidance ofmaintenance and revision works, - measurement and control of the influence of the plant on itsenvironment and giving of proposals to decrease the harmfuleffects, - investigation of possibilities for introduction of theautomatized control and regulation of processes to improvefuelconsumption and safety of work, - research and development of the expert systems for promptdetection of failures and finding out of the appropriate removaltechnology.

Research goals: Research and definition of the reguired organization and the maintenance system for complex plants with increase of reliability and efficiency, operational and maintenance cost optimalization. These are to be realized through: - Investigation of the key parametars in powerplants, chemical and processing plants having the purpose to define the strategy of maintenance, ensuring efficient, economical and reliable functioning and the increase of profit, - Definition of maintenance strategy, choice of methods and approaches to decrease stillstands and failures of components and parts, - Improvement of new methods for establishing degree of wear, fatique of material, failure of components, systems and the whole plant, - Investigation and definition of the concept of quidance of the informational system ASUR as support to the maintenance system, its development and application through the following subsystems:definition of the plant components DEFEL, supply and storage of the spare parts and components NAZAL, subsystem for functioning and failure FUOTK as well as planing, monitoring of control plant revisions and maintenance ASURP), - Work out of program systems ASUR (DEFEL, NAZAL, FUOTK and ASURP) in two variants: for smaller plants in the form of PC network and for larger plants in the form of medium large systems with relational data bases and UNIX operational system defining the required activities and adaptation of existing computer equipment of the user, - Definition of the required connections of the ASUR with the business informational systen of power plants, - Development, definition, elaboration and introduction of the expert systems for detection of failures of certain parts of the plant, - Research and development of automatization of the process quidance to increase safety and reliability of work.
