Summary: In the first part of project vibrations of linear and
non-linear mechanical systems and their behaviour are investigated. Both
numerical and experimental methods are used. Digital simulations of
vibrational behaviour of these rigid body systems have been developed. In
the second part dealing with shakedown the development of plastic shakedown
is carrying out, as well as the methods for calculation of cyclic load
limits that can be responded in a purely elastic manner after limited
period of the plastic deformations.
Keywords: vibrations of mechanical systems, experimental modal analysis, limit design, shakedown, finite element method
Research goals: First part of these project dealing with vibrations
has the goals: - development of numerical simulations for analysis of
mechanical systems, linear and non-linear, - investigation of stability
of motion and - for the purpose of education of young reserchears the
theoretic basis of experimental modal analysis has been written. The
part of the project dealing with shakedown has the goals: - evolution of
the theory of plastic shakedown in distinction from classical shakedown
theory and - evolution of simple methods for calculating the shakedown
limits that can be incorporated in general FEM packages. Promotion of
three Msc and at least two DPh degrees are exepected during this project. Other information about the project.
