Summary: After a presentation of the target of the project "Energetic andEnvironmental Assesment of Buildings and Settlements" thecriteria for assesment are compiled in Chapter 2 and a system ofcredits for quantifying the assesment criteria is outlined inChapter 3. In Chapter 4 calculation procedures for the energeticand environmental assesment of buildings are described. With the assesment procedures a competition for architects forthe planning of solar settlements shall be prepared. By settingassesment criteria and their quantification impulses shall begiven for the planning and realisation of buildings for varioususes (complex of buildings with blocks of flats, commerciallyused buildings, administrative buildings and social institutions)according to energy saving and environmental criteria and underspecial consideration of the meteorological conditions in theplace of its use as well as building traditions.

Summary: The Northern Adriatic region presents a typical example of adisturbance in the natural balance of the environment, this beingdue to development and concentration of industry, urbansettlements and touristic area needs to be properly managed tominimize the negative effect on the environment, especially in ahighly porous karstic terrain (sea and ground watercontamination). In order to ensure proper management of thewaste, it is necessary to survey waste in the area and evaluatealternative waste management/disposal techniques. Two possibilities of waste treatment has been investigated;energy production and usage in agriculture. In this paper someremarks concerning waste usage as fuel has been given.

Summary: Combined use of the hermoenergetic block szstem (designed for theheating and electric energy production), heat pumps and thelatent heat storage, represents the optimal mode of the energyutilization. As the electric energy production depends of theconsumption (which is variable during the day and night), the"waste" heat, produced by the internal combustion engine whichruns the electric generator is variable too. The systemconsidered in this paper includes the latent thermal storagetanks, which enable thermal energy transfer from periods with lowenergy consumption to periods with higher energy consumption.Calculations performed for practical examples, shown in thepaper, lead to the conclusion that the considered combination isexcellent solution from the viewpoint of the energy utilization.

    Language: hrvatski
Summary: The paper proposes the calculation method of the specificthermal loss for urban areas based on the net living area, thenumber of flats, and the number of buildings, t.e. the wellknownelements for each community, the interrelations of thesebuildings being the only necessary thing to be evaluated. Theproposed magnitudes are based upon th Mediterranean climate andspecific architecture on the Adriatic coast. First the size ofthe community is defined and, upon analysing the specific thermallosses, the annual thermal energy needs are determined.

Contemporaneously with analysis of existing situation researchhas been made in order to give a definition of ecologicalyacceptable way of waste treatment. Due to the role of agriculture in Istrian economy, as well asshortage of organic supstances in the soil composting is thelogical alternative to waste treatment. The compost, namlyintroduces the organic supstances into the soil regenerating itsfertility.

Summary: All major demands for energy consumption, in relation to thelevel of industry development make the energy problem even moreacute. The energy crisis has pointed out the limits of theprimary energy sources in the world. Apparent to that, we arefaced with constant price rise of liquid fuels in our country anddifficulties in obtaining them as well as occasional shortages. All these problems are especially present in tourist trade. Thecost of energy for basics needs in heating and airconditioning, hot water supply as well as constant uncertainty about supplyhave resulted with uneconomic hotel/tourist resort running, especially in winter periods. In this paper, the possible ways of energy supply of touristcomplex are given in the assumption that the energy problem ofthe hotel should be watched through the energy aspect andenvironment protection, energy and economy and energy anddevelopment. The supply with conventional energy sources is basedon gas consumption, though new technologies aim towards the majorrenewable energy sources utilization.

The consumption ofthat heat is very large, then author suggests introducing of gasfuels, for economic and ecologic reasons. Energetic bilanceproves legitimacy of introducing gas heat pumps as a producers ofheat at lower temperatures, because of this heat pumps are moredetailed treated from a technical aspect, specially apsorbs heatpump for which author thinks that they will be sources oflowtemperature heat in the future, especially at the Adriaticcoast. In the concluson are given the suggestions for the correctintroduction to energetic of heating of offices and consumablehot water in the cities of Adriatic coast and especially in theirhotels.

Summary: According to a broad consensus of scientists, the increasing emissions of carbon dioxide and some other gases resulting from human activities are expected to affect the climate of our planet. In spite of uncertainties surrounding the rate and magnitude of future climatic changes, scenarios based on the extrapolations from the best available data and assumptions envisage an increase in mean sea level, an increase of avrerage temperature, somewhat higher precipitation in winter but lower in summer, as well as changes in the intensity and frequency of winds, clouduness and insolation. As a result of assumptions mentioned above, great impact on natural and managed ecosystems can be identified, one of which is the impact on energy demand. This paper presents the outputs of the studies elaborated with the aim of studying the impacts of global climate change on natural and managed ecosystems on Cres-Lošinj Islands an Kaštela Bay.

Summary: The problems of the disposal of agricultural production waste make a significant part of the systematic care for the environment in Istria. Composting is one of the ecologically accetable alternatives. This paper shows the results of the research on influence of environmental conditions on the proces of composting. Correlation between the influence of air temperature and compost heap temperature on the one hand and between moisture and compost heap temperature on the other have been established. The above said shows the necessity for close examination of the ecological parameters in the process with the aim of defining elementary factors in composting technology.

Meeting: Međunarodni kongres Energija i zaštita okoliša
    Held: from 10/26/94 to 10/28/94
Summary: The heat loss and gainestimates in heating and air-conditioning have been analyzed with the critical approach to the elements expected to unite the simultaneous influences of different meteorological parameters. The existing data for the heat or the cooling output have shown that peak loads particially never or very seldom occur. By establishing the test reference year such disadvantage has been eliminated, since the meteorological parameters recorded within the 10-year sequence provide for the "typical", least extreme months in that period. Such a year, composed of the most typical months in a 10-year sequence is called the synthetic reference year. The selection of the reference year with the characteristic months, representing the homogeneous sequence has rendered the real values of all meteorological parameters together with their natural changes and interrelation. Thus all the requirements for a reference year showing daily, monthly and annual natural oscillations of all meteorological parameters have been fulfilled.
Keywords: meteorological parameters, test referent year, energy modelling

Summary: The Northern Adriatic region presents a typical example of adisturbance in the natural balance of the environment, this beingdue to development and concentration of industry, urbansettlements and touristic resorts. A large amount of wastegenerated in this highly touristic area needs to be properlymanaged to minimize the negative effect on the environment, especially in a highly porous karstic terrain (sea and groundwater contamination). In order to ensure proper management of thewaste, it is necessary to survey waste in the area and evaluatealternative waste management/disposal techniques. Two possibilities of waste treatment has been investigated inthis project:energy production and usage in agriculture.

Summary: The environment in which people live work has limited potentialsand resources. The interaction beetwen industrial objects, energetics, marine technology structures and environment causesharmful consequences on the environment. A lot of factors havebeen studied during the analysis of effects of marine technologystructures on the environment, but it is of great importance toknow the mode of detection and the motion of trace elements inenvironment, since they are important both for live nature andfor the processes in extinct segments which be more thoroughlystudied. The measuring technique will be X-ray spectroscopy, polarimetry and UV-spectroscopy.
