Summary: Hydrostatic axial and radial bearings are equipped todayessentially with a constant resistance laminar damper.Realisations with turbulent-laminar and upon pressure-dependentresistors are unusual. Design of these bearings is not dubioustoday thanks to comprehensive literature and accumulatedexperience. This paper presents a less exploited idea ofhydrostatic bearing design with real volume flow distributor anddiscusses its advantages over bearings with constant laminarresistor. First the principle is explained on simple axialbearings, subsequently the application of volume flowdistributors on radial bearings is described, then lastlycompared to bearings with laminar resistor.

Summary: By generating cutting of internal gears or almost whole depth, with previous radial feeding into the gear without rolling, during each return stroke of the shaping process withcorresponding radial displacement away from cutting zone, therubbing between the cutter and gear blank can occur. The complications exist by the fact that, during shaping process, the tooth spaces of the gear have of course not yet been cut totheir final shape. It is explained for any particular gear and cutter thecalculation of the angle of displacement direction which willeliminate the rubbing.

The program also enables thecomparison of different gear pairs in order to minimize thesliding losses.

The tooth profilegeometry is uniquely defined by the arc-shaped path of contact. The gears manufactured by the same rack cutter have theconcave-convex mesh. The result of enlarged reduced radius ofcurvature have as a consequence reduced Hertzian pressure andbetter lubrication conditions. The disadvantages of the abovementioned non-involute gearing are lower transverse contact ratioand great sensitivity to the center distance accuracy.

As an introduction and for easier approach, the bases of this analysis heve been given in the case of simply circular flat bearing. The analysis has firstly been carried out in the case of constant approaching velocity of bearing surfaces, as a hypotetical case, and then the expression for the time of oil thickeness film decreasing has been derived in the case of constant bearing load. This solution is very interesting and useful in real examples of lubrification.

Summary: The mechanical power transmission units characterize friction that irreversibly converts some percentage of transmitted energy into heat, dissipating it into environment. The quantity of these energy losses is especially significant at large units. By this reason the minimization of energy losses takes high priority in the design of mechanical transmission units. The paper elaborets some possibilities to reduce energy losses in the frequently used gear transmissions. Some significant energy loss reduction can be done by choosing the adequate parameters for the transmission units that contain gears with standard involute basic profile. As an alternative for the standard involute profile, the research of the special sinusoidal basic profile is presented. The gears with this profile produce significantely less energy loss than gears with standard involute basic profile.

Summary: Stated procedure gives the opportunity of a solution of progression of non-homogenous system of linear equations that arise from additions of the previous system. The data relevant to change of values of coefficients that define the transfer to a new system of equations is used immediately after computing in procedure of finding the solutions of equations' system. Memory keeps only inter-results of computing that also contain the solution of equation systems. Additional reduction of computers' required memory is enabled by selective computing for only required unknowns or its linear combinations. Described procedure can be applied, for example, to the direct find of flow and mean pressure in the oil film of bearing with hydrostatic or hydrodinamic lubrication, without necessity to find the local pressures itself. The required amount of computer storage may be even less than the one required to contain a local pressure values calculated when standard procedure is applied. In case it is required to compute the solutions of all unknowns, computing interresults may be moved to computer peripheral memory, until the application of back supstitution is completed. The required amount of memory may be even less than the one required when the iteration is applied. The amount of computer operations may be equal to the number of computer operations that would be required for Gauss procedure concerning the solution of the only last system in entire progression of equation.

    Number of pages: 165
Summary: This work elaborates geometry, meshing conditions, the rootfillet and tooth flank carrying capacity, and tribologicalproperties of special toothing with sinusoidal basic profile. Calculations were performed which, among others, showed thatsinusoidal toothing has a significantly greater carrying capacitythan involute toothing because of concav-convex contact on topand root of teeth, and because of smaller curvature and largercross section of root fillet. With elastooptic measurements on large plane models a very goodcorrelation between theoretical results and real values of stressand load distribution was found. It was also proved that concav-convex contact on sinusoidaltoothing causes much better lubricating conditions thanconvex-convex contact on involute toothing, significantly lessfriction losses, and consequently less temperature level oncontact area.

    Year: 1992
Summary: Complete calculation of gears geometry, including control ofpossible interferences by generating and meshing, controlmeasures for selected tolerances, and calculation of filletstress and contact pressures for selected materials are covered. The calculation are based on standards DIN 3999 for symbols, DIN3960/3993 for geometry, DIN 3961/67 for tolerances, and DIN 3990 for stresses. The communication with program is interactive, and allows easy optimizacion. Results can be printed in short onesheet and detailed five sheet versions. Drawing tables withcontrol measures are also generated. Every printout is availablein Croatish and English. The package is supplied with detailedmanual.

    Year: 1993
Summary: Program calculates and displays the real profile of one or moregear's teeth in the transverse or normal cross section generatedby the base profile of cutting tool defined with input data. Itincludes profile calculation for both standard and nonstandardinvolute gears with external and internal teeth. Generated datais suitable for profile plotting, visual control andoptimization, and can be directly applied in defining finite orboundary elements used in FEM and BEM analysis. Relevantgeometrical data and stress factors calculated according to DINand MAX method completes output. Documentation contents detaileddescription.

Summary: The programm enables the choice and control of carrying capacityof the dynamic preloaded bolted connection. For the chosenstrength classes of the bolt and bases materials the calculationsof elastic properties of connection, the magnitude of static anddynamic components of screw's forces and tensile and torsionalstresses in bolted connection are given. Upon the calculatedtightening moment the static and dynamic safety factors againstthe plastic deformations are given. The calculation is based onVDI 2230/86 recommendations.
