Summary: The Project develops on original procedure for the
determination of primary parameters for the railway line route. The optimal
characteristics of the route have been determined by interdisciplinary
approach. The main principle of the procedure is to express all annual
costs and social effects in relation to the velocity of passenger trains
per unit of operation. The increase in the train velocity divrgently
affects the costs and social effects. The points at which there are minimum
differences represent optimal velocities. The project includes extensive
investigation related to various influences of exploitation conditions upon
the costs, i.e. optimal parameters of the route, such as the volume and
structure of the traffic, site conditions, type of trains, and other
relevant factors. Mathematical models have been developed for all primary
parameters, wich are adaptable to elektronic computers.
Research goals: The objective of this research Project is to improve
the previously developed numerical models applied to the selection of
optimal element of the railroad route. The models are primarily intended
for the simulation of real conditions during the exploitation phase and
should be as simple as possible granting satisfactory accuracy. The
suggested investigations are primarily theoretical, but they should be
applied in practice in order to select the optimal elements for the
railroads route. The paper should establish the cause-effect relationship
between the applied elements of the route and the influence upon the
investment and exploitation costs as well as the social effects under
various conditions such as: conditions of the terrain, volume and structure
of the traffic, types of train traction etc. All developed model should be
incorporated into the respective software for practical application.
Certain contribution of this paper is expected in the field of legislation
which should be throughly rewieded.
