Summary: In the research project projected and build high classic
concreteand reinforced concrete retaining walls are analysed and
comparedwith bolted plain concrete structures 12 meters high. Newtechnology
solution for protection of high rock slopes is basedon a usage of rock
bolting with steel bar anchors in combinationwith a layer of micro
reinforced shotcrete MRS for rock surfaceprotection.
In the research project theoretical alghorithm is analysed, calculation of
safety factors, state of stresses anddeformations, with design of parts of
protection structure forone special sample. Static analysis is performed by
programZ-SOIL (Finite element method) and by program FLAC ( method offinite
diferences).
Economy is proved on the real protection structure (Two timescheapper than
classical retaining structures). Detailedlaboratory and "in situ" testing
is performed on geotechnicalbolts and micro reinforced shotcrete with
polypropilen fibres.
Keywords: rock slope, weathered rock stabilisation, rock mass classification, anchoring, microreinforced concrete, polypropulene fibers, retaining structures
Research goals: Main aim of this research is scientific analysis of
the whole scope enabling involment of new type of retaining structures
(Soil nailed) in the civil engineering practice and with this achievement
of significant reduction of expencies. This type of retaining structures
is not yet build or scientifically analysed in our country, so it is
necesary to solve and research specific problems of geotechnical modeling
of such structures for solution of stresses and deformations and stability
of the whole system: rock massive and geotehnical bolts. Theoretical
analysis and calculation has proved ability of usage this new technology
solution. For one 30 metres high rock slopes conzist of mainly layered
limestones hardly tectonicaly jointed a geotechnical model is done. With
program Z-SOIL stresses and deformations are analysed with rock slopes
stability. Protection structure is 600 kN rock bolts with 15 cm thick
micro reinforced shotcrete. With laboratory testing of MRS and with "in
situ" testing on pressure pilows ultimate bending capacity of shotcrete
layer is defined. Other information about the project.
