Summary: The greatest threat to the durabilityof reinforced concretestructures is the reinforcement corrosion. The paper presents theimportance of the concrete protective cover and the conditionscusing the reinforcement corrosion under the action of chloridesand carbon oxide. processes of absorption, diffusion and flow,i.e. of transport of media through concrete depend on the poresystem and amount of water in the pores. Physical laws describungthe penetration of aggressive agents into concrete can serve asbasis for engeneering calculations of reinforcement cover. Forengineering purposes, in a calculating the durability, fourtypical tasks can be solved.

Summary: For the sake of choosing mix designs for investigation of railwaysleepers, the fiber reinforced concretes were tested for fatiguestress and impact resistance. Experimentally have beeninvestigated mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforcedprisms before and after cyclic loadings. Fibers were dosaged inthe theree quantities, and the maximum grain sizes ofaggregate were 4, 8 and 16 mm.After two months curing the prismswere subjected to 10-E4 cyclic flexural loadings. The changes ofultra sonic pulse velocities in specimens and residual bendingstrength and working diagrams have been tested. The results showgood correlations of fatigue resistance with fiber contents.

Summary: The greatest threath to the durability of reinforced concrete road structures is reinforcement corrosion. Depending on the environmental conditions and concrete quality the damages caused by reinforcement corrosion have been observed already after 15 to 25 years, which means, much earlier than wanted service life - about 100 years. Many methods for measurements of parameters relevant to durability and also to diagnosis of building materials quality have been developed. However, the data obtained do not give always the same degree of damage. In this paper is presented two stage method procedure for evaluation, applying neuro shell computer program.

    Held: from 09/20/95 to 09/23/95
Summary: The results of preliminary and control tests for plastic concrete for diafragma are presented. The tests were performed for compressive and flexural states of stresses, erodibility and water permeability. The working diagram for comperssive stresses is aproximated by non-linear regresion analysis. It was shown that modulus depends on stress and strain level, and it could be calculated if the strength is known. In calculation of flexural strength, due to the plastic behaviour, the non-linearity shuold be taken into account.

Summary: Buildings are exposed to ageing as all other technical systems. This fact has been recognized only recently by civil engineers. For technically correct solution of durability problems, better knowlidge of properties of building materials is necessary. During the last decades several recommendations and standards are published in developed countries, but many others are still under investigation. On the basis of physical laws new models for service life design are proposed.

    Date of defense: 05/14/93
    Language: hrvatski
    Number of pages: 168
Summary: The original computor model for concrete mix design and redesignis developed. The analyses of test results of concrete and itsingredients has shown the neccesity of permanent control offollowing parameters: cement water requirement, sieve analyses, fineness modulus, air quantity, temperature and concreteconsistency and concrete strength. The time dependence of abovementioned parameters has been found, which in turn has to befollowed by autoregression model for quality control. Thecomputor program enables simple and quick control for any changein constituents parameters, equipment or environment.

Summary: In several tunnel linings have cracks appeared, which were both regular and iregular shape (e.g. tunnel Učka and tunnel Marjan). Detailed investigation of causes has shown that two types of cracks are most frequent, length cracks in the arch, and vertical cracks in the tunnel walls. Besides that cracks, periodically appear horizontal cracks at 2 or 4 meters from the road level. The causes of all three types of cracks were analised and explained. The cracks in tunnel linings could not be completly avoided, but their frequency and width can be minimized, in order to avoid subsequent harmfull influences.
