Summary: Simulation of complex hydrological systems operation for
floodrouting is performed using a mathematical model based on
completehydrodynamic equations. The analysis includes both the channelflow
and the raifall-runoff and is based on meteorological data.Differential
equations are numerically integrated employing thefinite element method.
The model is organized in two moduls: ahydrodynamic modul for the channel,
with a parallel computerizedprocess. A great number of equations are solved
efficiently byusing an appropriate algorithm (banded matrices or
frontalmethod). Large domains require a sutable organization of
inputparameters which necessitates developing a specific methodology.
