Summary: Investigation has been made to establish the optimum
maintenance of steel structures, especially on bridges from the aspect of
corrosion and corrosion prevention. On the basis of results of examination
and measurements, interdependence of parameters which determine state of
bridges, should be done.
Research goals: Develop the procedure which could determine state of
bridges in connection with durability of different coatings on steel
bridges. The method should be applied on bridges in situ. The goal is to
prolong service life and durability of corrosion protection of bridges.
Investigate procedure of partial maintenance or partial repair on bridges
where the computer will determine priority parts of bridges on which the
partial maintenance or partial repair should be done.
