The resulta are better if these measures are adequate to the local health problems and local circumstances. On the basis of analysis of recent literature and experiences in the field, a programme of such measures for different health problems will be investigated with the aim to get satisfactory effectiveness and acceptable efficiency and to develope programmes for implementation in the Republic of Croatia. Research will include problems of implementation of health promotion and prevention programmes in different areas (rural, urban), different groups within the general population (e.g., school children, elderly), as well as for different health problems (AIDS, family planning, cardiovascular disease, mental health).
