Summary: In the patients with Non Hodgkin lymphomas the following
proliferative parameters will be measured and corelated with routine
histological, clinical, and laboratory data: 1. Mitotic index calculated at
10 HPF (High Power Fields) 2. "S" phase and PI (Proliferative Index) using
the method of flow cytometry (FC),3. Ploidy status, using the same method,
and 4. Fraction of cells with DNA content more than 2N, done with the
method of microdensitometry. In the case of Low-Grade lymphomas with
leukemic blood picture and KLL doubling time of lymphocytes is calculated
and regarded as proliferative parameter.
Research goals: The aim of the work is to measure the parameters of
proliferation with different methods and corelate the results. Then we
intend to corelate proliferation parameters with clinical, histological
and laboratory data and survival. We shall try to settle the value of
proliferative parameters in making diagnosis of malignant lymphoma sa well
as in predicting complete remision, its duration and overal survival. We
expect to find difference in proliferative capacity between different
histological types of NHL and significance of difference in proliferative
capacity between individual lymphomas of the same histological type. We
also intend to corelate proliferative parameters with other prognostic
factors and hope to find its significance in multivariante analysis.
