Summary: The reserch deals with separation processes, particularly
microfiltration, ultrafiltration and hyperfiltration (reverse osmosis) at
the stage of the purification, concentration and isolation of plant
materials and components depending on the kind of product, e.g. for
clarification or colloid removal, the concentration of fruit juices, the
fractionation of individual components and their isolation. The research
focused primarily on promoting the quality of products of plant origin and
the technological production processes of these products (e.g. fruit
juices, wine etc).
Research goals: The aim of the research was to obtain an insight
into the possibillities of applying various membrane processes in the
technologies of products of plant origin such as fruit and vegetables,
juices, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, hydrocolloids, and plant
pigments. The research results will beused as the basis for promoting and
developing new technologies and new products which do not exist in this
country. Other information about the project.
