Summary: The agriculture is one of the most important activities in development of Middle Croatian region, Lika and Gorski Kotar. Management and marketing may become development promoters having adequate roles in the future functioning of agro-food sector. Applying contemporary marketing and management principles it is possible to change more efficiently ownership, production and consumption structure in keeping with development of domestic and world market.

Research goals: Essential aim of proposed research is increase of foodstuff production in the Middle Croatian region, Lika and Gorski Kotar according to ecological conditions in agricultural production which has to be determined by needs of regional Croatian and world market and by contemporary principles of management and marketing. Some specific aims are the following: 1. Changes of foodstuff production structure in the region 2. Efficiency and rationality increase of foodstuff production in the region 3. Researches on purchase and sale foodstuff market of the region 4. Change of ownership form, enterpreneurship and management of foodstuff system and constitution of institutional conditions of market infrastructure in the region 5. Increase of agricultural products export Expected contribution of research: - increase of foodstuff production in the region, - improvement of efficiency and rationality in doing business (productivity, economy and profitability) - increase of employment and national income per capita in Middle Croatia, including Lika and Gorski Kotar.
