Summary: Different forms of worker participation and the
participation of other employees in decision making and company management
have been developed and put into practice in countries with a developed
market economy. These models of participation are especially developed and
efficient in some of these countries. A radical reform orientation
towards market economy in this country, which takes for granted a revision
of ownership of the means of production and entrepreneuship - and thus also
a revision of the unproductive system of self-management - arouses our
interest in various forms of employee participation in company management.
The abandonment of the system of self-management as a social and economic
category and its replacement by appropriate forms of employee participation
in conformity with the actual needs and possibilities of economic
development have become an imperative of our time. The inspiration provided
by the level of joint decision-making already achieved and by other forms
of employee participation are especially interesting in this context.
Research goals: The aim of this research is derived from the
situation described above. That is, a radical change of ownership
relationship and the market orientation of the economic system make it
imperative that the unproductive system of self-management be replaced with
different forms of employee participation in company management. This
priority also stems from the economic integration processes in Europe,
where the process of harmonizing different models of employee participation
is still being carried out. For this reason, the aspiration of this country
to join European economic processes makes it necessary to investigate
characteristic models (as for example, "Mitbetimmung" in Germany) and to
look for optimum models and dimensions of employee participation. Given
the above considerations, the aim of this research is to explicate the most
efficient models of joint decision making in the most productive economies
in European (and non-European) countries and to articulate models
appropriate to different forms of entrepreneurship in the economy of this
country. These aims determine the formulation of appropriate research
methodology. Other information about the project.
