Summary: Modern constitutionalists are very discontent with the
position and the function of the constitution in the modern state and
society. "Malaise constitutionnel" is a common feature of such practice
almost everywhere. The very new circle of the constitutional development
now also occurring in the Republic of Croatia , opens for us a completely
new question here. What are the differencies between a written and a
non-written constitution in the circumstances of constitutional polity and
politics? What are the real chances of democratic transition to develop a
respectable normative constitution? Our project deals with such and
similar questions.
Keywords: Constitution, Constitutionalism, Democratic constitutionalism, Republic of Croatia, Institutions of democratic order, Institutions of Republic and their development in past and present.
Research goals: The principal target of our project is the exploring
andadvancing of culture of constitutional democracy and values inthe
Republic of Croatia. The expected results should be a normative and
criticallegal study seen as a support of different constitutionalvalues in
the process of affirmation and consolidation inthe Republic of Croatia.
