    Summary: The book designates phonology as an aspect of the linguisticexpression and a linguistic discipline in its own right, as wellas in the relation to the related (analogous, cognate) levels anddisciplines - phonetics and morphonology. Turk describes thephonological system of the Croatian Language, determining thedivision of the phonemes into syllable, morpheme and the word.Phonological, versus the morphonological distribution patternsare also determined, together with distributional characteristicsof the individual phonemes. The book follows historicaldevelopment of the phoneme distribution and redistribution,under the influence of the different linguistic elements.Finally, Turk illustates distribution of the phonemes in theliterary language in contrast to the substandard.

    Summary: The supplement presents the system for the interpretation of theaccent(ual) symbols, which contained in 1728 edition of Ardeliodella Bella's Dizionario italiano, latino, illirico. Definitionof the fixed accentuation system and the stages of its evolutionis determined by the number and the type of the prosodic unitsand their distribution. For the illustration of the method used,and the verification of the conclusions arrived at, approximately20 of Della Bella's examples are enclosed.

    Summary: In the span of at least 500 years, until the beginning of the20th century, in Rijeka coexisted two popular languages; adialect of Italian Language known as "fiuman" (a dialect specificto the city of Rijeka), and Chakavian idiom of the CroatianLanguage specific to the city (of Rijeka). The text examines thelinguistic mechanism which these neighbouring languages havedeveloped in their (mutual) coexistence. These mechanism haveenabled the existence of both of the languages in the same city,without the possibility of mutually excludind themselves at thesame time. The text examines the reasons for the disappearance ofthese two languages.

    Summary: The paper renews the notion about the making of the lexicon (vocabulary, glossary) together with the dictionary of the idiomatic expressions of Čakavian type vernacular (dialect) which is particular to the region of Grobnik. Undertaking of this kind requires clear theoretical positioning (concern notions and terms in regards to the terms) as well as the selection of methodology (is connected to the theoretical selection, which in turn, is attached to the geographic(al) and historic(al) order corps.

    Summary: This work treats the problem of creation and function of calqueson the theoretical and practical level, as well as therelationship between the model and the calque together withsemantic changes on the indicator. It has been established thatin a language, semantic calques prevail over the lexixcal ones,pointing the reasons for these occurrence. The receivinglanguage, relying primarily on its own expressionalpossibilities, retains its grammatical independence, and by meansof semantic calques enriches its semantic aspect, thus enteringthe European Language Convergence.

    Summary: Taking the evidence which was collected during the field trip research in 1985 into account, the article separates distingushing linguistic characteristics of the local speech of Klana. Quoted and argued for on several different levels, these clearly point to the indisputable conclusion that the local speech of Klana belongs to the Čakavian vernacular of the Croatian language. In opposition to these facts stands unproved popular conviction which assigns this speech to the Kajkavian (dialect) vernacular of the Croatian -Slovenian language, that is.
