Summary: Within the frames of the project seven music collections
and archives in Croatia will be arranged and catalogued to various degrees
of elaboration: Cathedral in Trogir, Parish church in Novi Vinodolski,
Jesuit Collegium in Dubrovnik, Cathedral in Split, Benedictine nunnery in
Cres, Udina-Algarotti collection in Zagreb, Franciscan monastery in
Dubrovnik, and, respectively their catalogues published. In research and
arranging of archives modern musico-archival and bibliographical methods
are applied, as well as international standards used in printing of music
catalogues. The obtained data are referred to international bank of music
data (R.I.S.M.). The aim of the project is the physical protection of music
material, the microfilming of most important compositions, elaboration,
approach facilities, information and including of up to now unknown part of
Croatian, Mediterranean and Central-European musical heritage, preserved in
Croatian musical collections, into domestic and international scholarly and
cultural public spheres.

Research goals: 1) Archival arranging of collections in Trogir/Trau
(1), Novi Vinodolski (1) and Dubrovnik/Ragusa (2); about 8,000 archival
units = ca 13,3% of Croatian musical heritage in all; 2) Publishing of four
music catalogues: Cres/Cherso, Split/Spalato, Dubrovnik/Ragusa (Jesuits),
Novi Vinodolski; about 2,700 units = ca 4,5% of Croatian musical heritage
in all; 3) Manuscripts ready for printing: catalogues of music collections
in: Zagreb/Agram, Dubrovnik/Ragusa (Franciscans) and Trogir/Trau; about
11,000 units = ca 18% of Croatian musical heritage in all; 4) Microfilming
of selected originals of Croatian music and rarities of European music; 5)
Physical preservation of neglected primary documentation (scores, music
books) in Croatian, Mediterranean and Central-European music; 6) Enriching
of contemporary musical life with valuable, but neglected compositions from
Croatian musical heritage; 7) New insights into the totality and the
general character of Croatian music history from the Middle Ages to the
end of the 19th century.
