Summary: In presenting musicological achievements in Croatia of
the1980s and the perspectives for the 1990s, the article follows
thearticulation of themes and goals as established by the musichistorian
Josip Andreis during the 1960s and 1970s. Thus it ispresented the actual
situation and achievements in universitystudies of musicology, research
institutions, writing of historyof Croatian music from the Middle Ages to
the 20th century,research and arranging of musical archives,
interdisciplinaryprojects and systematic musicology, lexicography,
musicologicalperiodicals and publications in general. Perspectives
aresuggested for the possible continuation of already existingtendencies,
as aforementioned, into the 1990s, as well as for newdemands and
possibilities in Croatian musicology (e.g.decentralisation of research,
expansion of publicationactivities, lexicographical projects, international
researchprojects, etc.).

Summary: The cataloguing of music documentation in Croatia is a
project inthe advanced initial phase. This music material (music
prints,manuscripts, books) was gathered continuously from the 10th tothe
20th century and has been preserved at more than 200locations in c. 60.000
units. The article brings a history ofresearch in music collections in
Croatia, data on the level oftheir arrangement and their classification.

Summary: Of over fifty registered Croatian music collections,
twelve(those in Rijeka, Cres, Split, Hvar, Stari Grad, Omi,Dubrovnik,
Zagreb and Varadin) comprise compositions by sevenmemebers of the Tartini
circle (Tartini, Calegari, Valotti,Naumann, Nardini, Paganelli, Pagin). For
the most part, these arecontemporary manuscripts from the end of the 18th
and thebeginning of the 19th centuries, and the rest are later prints.The
majority of this music was brought to Croatia from Italianand German
countries.

Summary: Music and gender is treated here through the role of
LujzaKozinović (1887-1975), who was composer, choir conductor,collector and
researcher of traditional Croatian church music.Her work in Kraljevica
resulted with elaborated traditionalchurch (and also Glagolitic) music
material. Her legacy is keptin the Sisters of Charity nunnery library in
Zagreb, and herprinted music can be found in numerous Croatian
musiccollections.
