Summary: During last five years (1991-1995) studies on effects of
dopamine drugs in various indications were conducted. Laboratory animals
(mice, rats) and chicks were used. Diseases caused or exarcebated by
stress as well as pathological changes in chicks provoked by
Trichothecene mycotoxins were studied and described. Couple of new
experimental models of diseases were described i.e. inflammatory bowel
disease and stress induced gizzard erosions in chickens. In both models,
the protective effects of dopamine agonists and negative effects of
dopamine antagonists were proven. Major research was conducted concerning
the establishment of conections between the dopamine system and newly
isolated gastrointestinal peptide (BPC). Effects of dopamine drugs were
also investigated in indications such as stress gastric erosions and
pancreatic and hepatic lesions during immobilisation stress (restraint
stress). The resulty of investigations were published in 14 journal
articles, two Phd thesis and two M.S. works.
Research goals: In this study we want to establish effects of
dopamine drugs on stomach, hepatic, intestinal and pancreatic lesions
which are of relatively specific aethiology. It is primarly related on
the stress induced lesions, tissue lesions caused by trichothene
mycotoxins and inflammatory bowel disease. Very scrupulous and exact
scientiffic verification of protection or even therapy of this diseases
would enable use of dopamine drugs widely in veterinary practice
especially in extensive stock breeding concerning the fact that presently
there are no efficient drug or the therapy is conected with numerous
contraindications.Furthermore, laboratory investigations on experimental
animals will provide us with exact insigh even in the aethiology of some
diseases which belongs to the formerly noted group of tissue damages i.e.
Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis in humans, IBD in animals, gizzard
erosions in chickens and mycotoxine lesions.
