Summary: The aim of the project is to collect from various sources, to classify and to elaborate the Croatian phraseology. The linguistic elaboration of the phraseology includes questions of origin, composition, variability, meaning and collocation. The stylistic elaboration includes the expression of different styles as well as connotative and stylistic meanings. The lexicographic elaboration is meant to lead to composing different types of dictionaries. As a result of the project a series of scientific studies, articles and papers, a great Croatian-Russian phraseological dictionary and several 2- or 3- language dictionaries in the series "Small phraseological dictionaries" can be expected.

Research goals: The principal aim of the project consists in collecting Croatian phraseology and paying attention to new tendencies in creating phraseological units in the language of new literature, of daily and periodical press and other mass media, as well as in free speech, slang, dialects etc. All this phraseology has to be classified and studied. Special attention must be paid to the composition of phrasemes, to their form and variability, to questions of collocation, meaning, stylistic and connotative value.
